STAFF

Our Staff are highly qualified, chosen for their background and skills that enhance the program and our activities. All staff members meet the requirements set forth by the State as applicable, including a background investigation. Staff members participate in planned training and education to further their skills in child development and recreation.

Program Director-Jill Huesgen is new to our Voyager staff.  She has lived in Ridgway with her family for 6 years and loves the area.  Jill has worked with area youth as a para-professional for the Ridgway School District, and a coach for Destination Imagination.  Jill has great community connections and we are very excited to have her on our Voyager team. 

Ridgway Site Director - Katrina Thomsen brings creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to Voyager. She has been with the program for 1 year.  Prior to Voyager, Katrina worked in the Telluride Pre-School and as a nanny.  As Enrichment Director during the summer, Katrina's contributions include adding swim lessons to Summer Enrichment, expanding program activities, and utilizing community resources .

Ouray Site Director - Jo Shields, a Ouray mother and Ouray School Para-professional has been with Voyager for 5 summers. She brings her knowledge of Ouray County, passion for youth, and desire to provide fun programs for kids to Voyager.

Program Leader - Rissa Robinson has been with Voyager for 4 summers. She brings her passion for rodeo and soccer to Voyager youth.

Program Leader - Jake Stone, a college student at Loyola University, brings his creativity and enthusiasm to the Voyager staff.  Jake has worked for Voyager for 3 years.

Program Leader - Arielle Baker is a part time Ouray resident with experience nannying and babysitting. Her organization and enthusiasm are a great addition to Voyager.

Program Assistant - Emily Fritz participated in Voyager as a youngster, and now joins us on staff to bring her energy and excitement.
